Project Overview

This basement was a blank slate—unfinished, underutilized, and not serving the family’s needs. With limited living space upstairs, the homeowners felt cramped and needed an area where they could spread out.

They also wanted dedicated storage solutions to keep their home organized. Without a functional basement, they were missing out on valuable square footage that could enhance their daily lives.

Scope of Work

This basement remodel was designed to maximize every inch of space, providing the homeowners with a comfortable, multi-functional area tailored to their needs. The project focused on creating a spacious living area, a dedicated home office, and smart storage solutions to enhance organization and usability.

To achieve these goals, we fully finished the basement, adding new walls, flooring, lighting, and trim to create a polished and inviting environment. The space was designed to be versatile, functioning as a productive home office during work hours and seamlessly transitioning into a comfortable gathering space for family and friends.

To enhance convenience and functionality, we also added a full bathroom, making the basement a truly self-sufficient extension of the home. Custom storage solutions were incorporated throughout to keep the space organized, ensuring it remains both practical and clutter-free.

One unique challenge was the ceiling height near a basement window, which initially posed a design limitation. Rather than treating it as an obstacle, we transformed it into a charming built-in nook, turning an architectural challenge into a standout feature. Thoughtful material selections, warm wood tones, and rich accent colors were used to create a cohesive, modern-yet-cozy aesthetic.

By blending functionality with inviting design, this basement remodel successfully turned an underutilized space into a valuable extension of the home—perfect for both everyday living and productivity.

Paige and Craig moved efficiently through the design process, making selections quickly and trusting our expertise to guide their decisions. Their pre-production phase was seamless, with clear communication and a well-organized schedule setting the stage for a smooth build. Once construction starts, a typical basement remodel takes about 4-8+ weeks. Once construction began, the project followed the planned timeline, progressing steadily toward completion. Like any remodel, a few final details required additional coordination, but the space was cleaned, staged, and ready for use while awaiting the finishing touches.
