Project Overview

This client was ready to redefine their kitchen's tired, cramped atmosphere, which felt to them like a tiny, closed-off box. They wanted a transformation, and to make the kitchen larger, but without expanding the walls.

The result is a kitchen that marries the sleek lines and minimalist vibes of Mid-Century Modern with playful retro elements, infused with a contemporary twist. It's a beautiful blend of nostalgia and innovation, resulting in a visually compelling and inviting space.

Scope of Work

In this kitchen remodel, we waved our design wand to transform the space by blending functionality and style, perfectly tailored to our clients' unique needs.

The project began with the demolition of the existing cabinetry, countertops, appliances, backsplash, and soffit, making way for a revamped layout designed to optimize storage and space utilization.

Key changes included removing the upper cabinets on the peninsula to open up the area, while simultaneously increasing storage in other areas, and making the stove wall a stunning focal point.

Electrical and lighting were reconfigured to accommodate the new design, including upgrading the electrical system for an induction range and enhancing the ventilation for the new hood. Brand-new cabinetry was installed, offering double the storage capacity and ensuring every inch of space was utilized efficiently. The backsplash area was tiled, new countertops were fitted, and a fresh sink and faucet were installed, all contributing to the kitchen's refreshed look.

Attention to detail was paramount right down to the trim work, painting, and final finishing touches. An added pop of color was introduced with an accent wall painting, creating a space that is as special and individual as the clients themselves.

This comprehensive remodel not only met but exceeded expectations, delivering a kitchen that is both beautiful and functional.

The development of this kitchen remodel progressed well, guided by the clients' desire for a distinctive and enjoyable space. Although initially uncertain about the specifics of their vision, the clients found clarity and direction with the assistance of Trish, their dedicated Project Developer. Her guidance enabled them to make swift and confident decisions. The pre-production phase, including the ordering of materials, determining product lead times, and scheduling with trade partners, spanned just over a month. Once construction began, the project progressed according to the typical timeline for a kitchen remodel, which ranges from 6 to 10 weeks. Thanks to the well-coordinated efforts of everyone involved and clear communication throughout the process, construction proceeded without any significant obstacles, and concluded within the anticipated timeframe.
